In January of 2017, Impact2one had raised $60,000 and broke ground for the Katie Beth Carter Memorial Institute on February 17,2017. Heritage High School brought its first team of teachers and students on in April of 2017 and another in December of 2017. By the end of 2017, the department of Leon MINED (Ministry of Education) had approved the school license, but further approval from the national MINED was needed. Once that was obtained, the official opening date for the school was set for January of 2019. On January 22, 2019, the Katie Beth Carter Memorial Institute officially opened its doors to 55 students and 2 grades.
One Mission Mercantile was established in February of 2018 after Impact2one became connected with Nicamerican Missions and the Katie Beth Carter Memorial Institute was put into motion. One Mission Mercantile came about to provide hope to people in vulnerable situations by sharing God’s love and grace through community, relationships, skills training, and job creations. A sewing room was created as a way to teach a skill set to the women in the neighborhood of Tomas Borge in the hopes of giving them a way to earn a steady income that they could use to support their families. By teaching these women a skill they could use to bring in a better income for their family, their children wouldn’t have to drop out of school to go to work collecting recyclables or in the fields.
