The Seeds of Care Health Center is coming soon! Individuals from both Nicaragua and the United States are joining together to establish a health center on the campus of Open Heavens. Seeds of Care will initially provide medical care for the students and families of Katie Beth Carter Memorial Institute with hopes to expand and serve the larger Tomas Borge community. Seeds of Care will focus on preventative medicine, health education, and the treatment of minor acute and chronic illnesses. The Center’s goal is to plant seeds of hygiene, nutrition, health, and Christ’s love that will one day grow and produce fruit.

A medical Care Center that seeks to provide basic medical care that focuses on prevention, heath education, and treatment of minor chronic and acute illnesses. The Center hopes to plant seeds of hygiene, nutrition, health, and Christ’s love that will one day grow and produce fruit.
The heart of Tomas Borge. This area was for many years one of Nicaragua’s largest dump sites. It has since been taken over by a city of squatters and is now home to approximately 6,000 families. The center is located at the Katie Beth Carter Memorial Institute. Initially the Seeds of Care will focus on the KBCMI students and families with hopes of spreading outwards to the entire community.
The people of Tomas Borge have little access to quality affordable healthcare. Most in the Tomas Borge community do not have transportation and even if they walk or pay to ride to nearby cities, the level of care they receive is often very poor. Seeds of Care hopes to provide local access to individuals who may otherwise be forced to do without.
